Griffin Kushen, a sophomore at Tesoro High in California, placed second in the Division 1 senior/invitational 3-mile race in 14:44.5 at the 48th Dana Hills Nike Invitatonal at Dana Hills High in Dana Point. Kushen improved more than two minutes from his 10th-place performance in last year's Division 1 freshman race to help Tesoro take third overall with 149 points.
